Description:

A "pilgrim's flask" of flattened circular form having a small neck with a collar, the sweling mouth with inturned lip joined to the shoulders by two angular strap handles terminating in ruyi heads, with an ornamental boss on either side below; oval, spreading foot. Painted in underglaze red turning to green in places is a roundel of intricate geometric design with a six-pointed star in the centre on either face, with formalised floral sprays repeating round the sides and neck, and pointed lappets with florets, etc. at the mouth and foot.
